Tantric Vinyasa Yoga Teachers to Lead Trip to the Sacred Valley of Peru

Yoga teachers Kelly Golden and Kerry Kleisner are leading a Yoga and Service retreat to the Sacred Valley of Peru October 1-10, 2011.   The retreat will be held at Hanaq Pacha Retreat Center, located near some of the most treasured archeological sites in the world. Hanaq Pacha Retreat Center was built to support Casa de Milagros Home and their vision of providing shelter, food, clothing, basic medical care, education and arts programs that promote self- worth for children in need.  Casa de Milagros is a residence for orphaned and abandoned children in and around the Sacred Valley.  Retreat participants will be exploring the Sacred Valley of the Incas, known for its charming Andean villages and natural, mountainous beauty, as well as supporting the well-being of the mind and body through the practice and exploration of Yoga and meditation, and working and playing with the children of Casa de Milagros, where everyone will have the opportunity to see directly how the money they spend to attend the retreat sustains the children of Casa de Milagros.

The structure of the trip is both organized and relaxed.  Participants will fly into Lima and then connect to Cuzco, overnighting, resting in and exploring this beautiful colonial city situated at 11,000 feet above sea level.  Local archeological ruins and markets will be explored during the bus ride into the Sacred Valley and to Hanaq Pacha.  Open days for yoga, reflection and service work at the orphanage will be offered along with optional side excursions such as a hike on the famous Inca Trail and an exploration of the spectacular lost Inca city of Machu Picchu, The trip also includes a total of six additional excursions exploring the ancient and timeless areas in and around the Sacred Valley. The cost for the trip includes all transfers, most meals, all accommodations all yoga, and all excursions excluding Machu Picchu.

Kelly and Kerry have practiced yoga for over 15 years and have been teaching for over a decade.  Close friends since their first yoga teacher training in Asheville, NC, they both currently study within the lineage of Rod Stryker and the tantric Parayoga tradition, which teaches its students how to work with the body, breath, mind and spirit to attain “sublime success and happiness” through yoga.  It is their intention for the morning and evening yoga practices throughout the retreat to be grounding, nurturing and also enlivening so that attendees have the energy that only yoga can provide to enjoy and truly receive with open hearts their excursion to the Andes.
